Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Mel and Anne of Costa Boat Trips whom are based at the La Caleta Marina / Velez Malaga and what a lovely couple they are.
I felt as if I had known them for years and I can’t wait to go out on one of their trips. You will certainly be in excellent company and feel very safe with them.
I know I will after having a good chat with them over a long lunch in one of my favourite restaurants in Competa.
Mel is your Captain and has over 30 years’ experience. Boating is in his blood. He is a fully certified to operate as a Captain and the boat is Spanish registered, fully insured and comprehensively equipped with all safety equipment. This is a most technically superior boat, that’s for sure.
Anne is not only your hostess, looking after you from the moment you come on-board but she will have prepared freshly made complimentary sandwiches for the trip which are deliciously made with fresh Dutch rolls. These are included in your trip along with complimentary cold soft drinks, as well as cold beer and cava.
You can bring your own food and drink with you and they will be kept in a cooler until you are ready to have them. One thing they did ask me to mention was if you bring your own drinks with you please do note that there is no red wine allowed as their luxury boat is a beautiful white boat.
I saw one of their adverts for Boat Trips and what I really loved about it was that they specialize in catering only for small parties. I liked the idea that it would be for no more than eight persons. It’s ideal, allowing for more intimacy and getting to know your Captain, instead of bumping into each other on a crowded boat, trying to get past and find a good seat to watch the dolphins or look at the rugged pristine scenery.
Their boat sounds shear luxury and they even have a fresh water shower on-board so you can wash off the saltwater after a swim or before you leave the boat. How great is that?
Large towels are included in the price, so you don’t need to take anything with you other than sunscreen and your camera.
