Cómpeta Walking Festival 2022

Where does it take place and when?

Cómpeta Walking festival is taking place between the 29th of September and the 2nd of October 2022.

This year is marking the 10th Anniversary.

The price is only €30 per person for all four days.

€ 10 per person per day if you want to join on 1, 2, or 3 days of the festival.

This year there will be three levels of the walks, which include a better description to help you decide which level is best for you.

  • Level 1: A maximum of 10 km, time of 4 hours (excl. breaks), with a maximum altitude difference of 500 metres
  • Level 2: A maximum of 15 km, time about 6 hours (excl. breaks), with a maximum altitude difference of 800 metres
  • Level 3: A maximum of 20 km, time about 8 hours (excl. breaks), with a maximum altitude difference of 1400 metres.

If you live here, your furry friends are quite welcome to come along.

The start and finishing points are either the Hotel Balcón de Cómpeta or El Parque opposite Restaurante Lorena Cómpeta.

On the last day there is a buffet at the hotel and a presentation of medals. This is an additional price of €15 if booked in advance.

If you want to have a buffet and you have not pre-booked before the walk the price is €20 per person.

Your tickets for the buffet are automatically entered into a prize draw. All tickets are numbered and this will take place before the buffet and medal presentation.

Do you like walking?

If your answer is yes, you will not want to miss out!

Cómpeta is a fantastic place to visit for walking, we are on the edge of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park, in the Axarquía region of Malaga.

There are plenty of routes for you to enjoy in this area without having to take part in the Walking festival.

Cómpeta Walking Festival has been running for 10 years

The Cómpeta Walking festival has been taking place for ten years and is well organised by Yoast Sheppel who has lived here for many many years.

Why not take a staycation if you are living in Andalucía, or even if you live further afield in Spain. Or, in the rest of Europe, it is not too late for you to book a flight and spend longer than a few days. And come and stay at Villa Andalucía.

Those of you who know Competa will know what a great walking area it is and we are only a few minutes away from the hotel where some of the walks begin, and less than 15 minutes to El Parque opposite Restaurante Lorena Cómpeta.

Several guests who have taken part in the walking festival in the past enjoyed the walks and were thankful to be able to come back to Villa Andalucía and relax in the pool and refresh their aching bodies. At this time of the year, the crystal-clear pool is still at a refreshing temperature, and nice to be able to chill out on one of the sunbeds.

I do still have some availability for this years walking festival, here you can check out which ROOMS are still free. I can arrange light breakfasts for you and also a packed lunch to take with you.
